The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2023 ceremony took place on a star-studded night at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) filled with exciting performances and well-deserved recognition for the top musicians in Ghana. The 24th Edition of VGMA saw several deserving winners, with both established and upcoming artists receiving awards for their exceptional contributions to the Ghanaian music scene.
One of the biggest winners of the night was Blacko, who took home four awards, including the coveted Artiste of the Year award. Black Sherif has had an undeniably wonderful year. As co-host James Gardiner noted, “This was pure hard work; he was just … relentless for this year under review – a huge congratulations!” His most hipped competitor, Piesie Esther, took home two awards for Best Gospel Song of the Year and Best Gospel Artiste of the Year. Other notable wins on the night include Stonebwoy, Camidoh and Lasmid. King Promise also took his first-ever VGMA awards on the night.
